Toby Burkhart joins Island Green with 30 years of experience in the golf maintenance industry. Toby has been a superintendent for 17 years and an active member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association for 26 years. Toby has also served as president of the Ozark Turf Association.

Originally from the Kansas City area, Toby moved to Branson in 1998 where he became the assistant superintendent at Ledgestone Country Club. Toby was employed there for two years prior to accepting his first superintendent position at Top of the Rock Golf Club. Toby was at Top of the Rock for six years when he accepted the superintendent position for a golf course grow-in project – John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf Club.

After the grow-in was complete at Murder Rock, he decided to take the position of superintendent at Holiday Hills Golf Club.  Toby remained there for seven years before applying for the “new” Top of the Rock superintendent opening.  Upon accepting the new position at Top of the Rock, he was in charge of getting the course in shape to host the Champions Tour event, Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf Tournament, which has had a very successful run in its first five years.  After manning that position for two and a half years, he made the decision to get back to his roots of managing a full 18-hole facility.  Toby is honored, and excited, to be Island Green’s next superintendent.
